Plum Pencil Skirt

July 20, 2015

If you think the only “neutrals” are black, beige, white, and grey, think again. I would call this plum pencil skirt a neutral. It can obviously be worn with your typical neutral colors, but it can also be worn with a variety of other colors-think baby blue, cobalt, navy, pale pink, pale yellow, green, etc. On this particular 90+ degree Dallas day, I chose to pair it with this breezy white ASTR top that has black crochet details (similar here). I love the contrast of the rich plum hue with lighter colors, but when transitioning into fall I envision wearing this skirt with darker tops. It’s a great staple piece for your work wardrobe since it can be worn several different ways throughout the year. Plus, it’s polished and professional enough to wear in a conservative office. And best of all-it’s under $75 (and if you get it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it’s under $50)! Follow me on instagram to see how I treat this skirt as a neutral and how I wear it throughout the year. Xo, AL

P.S. Stay tuned for my posts throughout the next few weeks as I share some of the things I picked up from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! LOTS of goodies!
